The question is often asked of me: “Why do  you blog?” And I always have the generic answer of:

  1. I have to get stuff off of my chest ;
  2. I like to write ;
  3. I need an outlet for ideas ;
  4. etc

But when i honestly sit back and think about it, I can’t find a solid reason.  I mean, when it comes to what I believe to be false doctrine, and I have something to say about the topic, I feel strongly about getting that message out there (even though most of the time it isn’t very well received).  But other topics I really have no strong desire to write about.  I am passionate about exposing deception in the modern church world, but I can’t within myself post about that daily (there is a plethora of perversions and heresies out there) or I would go crazy.  It is like watching the news 24/7, it is too depressing.

So what I have tried to do on this blog is to have a balance of articles attempting to refute false doctrines, articles about general religious news, and articles about politics.  It is all controversial but some less than others.  Take This article about Rick Pino.  That post got pretty heated when proponents for Rick, started a blog of their own defending the heretical worship that is projected in the services he leads.  I had to stop the comments, because I have a life and can’t take on the task of answering each comment.  It would be never ending.  That is how most debates are though.  But on posts like this about crazy apostolic people, the consensus is that I am right about pointing out the insanity.  People back me because it is so obvious the heresy.

If I mess with a celebrity preacher, I get called judgmental and told not to “touch God’s anointed”.  People don’t even know the context of that statement and use it erroneously.  They don’t understand that Christians actually are to judge. We can’t just let things go.  We can’t just let people be led astray, if we notice error.  It is our responsibilty to guide people correctly.  Man is so easily swayed to deception.

I just watched a special on Jim Jones and Jonestown yesterday in memory of the anniversary.  If any of us see the video and audio snippits that are played, we will immediately be able to see the deception.  But that is because of hindsight for most of us, when some of us might have been caught up in that.  Over 900 people were deceived in Jonestown and followed a crazy heretical theological figure without question.  That is scary!  That is exactly what is happening in the modern church world.  We have much more to lose than our mortal life here, we have our eternity to think about.  If we are going down a wrong path, and our focus is not on Jesus Christ and His Finished Work, we are on a path to destruction and Hell.  That honestly scares me.

So why do I blog?

  1. I have stuff to get off my chest ;
  2. I like to write ;
  3. i need an outlet for ideas
  4. Most importantly, with my convictions, I feel I need to warn people of their spiritual blindness and ask them to pray to the Lord to remove the blinders from their eyes and see the truth.

You might not agree with me, but at least see where I am coming from.  In the end, the only person facing the Lord Himself on judgement day, will be you and not your favorite celebrity preacher.  Not every preacher on T.V. is in error, but they are all prone to it, and it is up to you to discern the truth.  I pray you ask for discernment.

God Bless.

  1. Hey Tony
    Do you ever think that it is because of your relationship and love for God that you blog? Getting His Truth out there amongst all the falsities.

    Just a sisterly suggestion - Why don’t you start a page where you can focus on God and what He is doing in lives around you - so people get another take on what’s going on.? You have a lot of readers…

    Hey, don’t stop doing this stuff - it is needed, but it can also get you crazy as you said.
    Ask Him what to do?
    Bless you

  2. It sounds like you write to spread honest information to others. That is a very noble cause.

  3. Blogging is a great way to write and express and share your ideas with others. I equate it to being a journal we can share with the world. If you have a message to share or discuss get it out there for the world to see.
