My brother sent me this link and I had to listen to what Mike Bickle Said twice just to make sure I heard it correctly.
Go to this link here: For the Video.
Mike Bickle, in this video promo for the False Doctrine Conference of IHOP, Says that We can be renewed, refreshed, and set on fire if we change our old mindset to a new mindset.
He also says one of the most heretical statements that I think I have ever heard come from somebody. He says:
“Beloved, it isn’t enough to just be born again, we want the secret of his heart.”
Let me address the first statement of changing our Old Mindset to a new mindset. This is total heresy. When we come to Christ, we are perfect. We are right. We are on track. We are where God intends us to be, simply because our faith is in the right thing.
Now we Have Mike Bickle saying that we need to change that to something else. This really isn’t anything new. Paul had to deal with the Galatians on this very subject. Paul puts it this way in Galatians 3:3:
“Are you so Foolish? Having begun in the Spirit are you now made perfect by the Flesh”?
The story behind that verse is there were people, like Bickle, then that were trying to sway the early Galatian church into their way. Paul bluntly pretty much called the Galatians “Stupid” for even thinking that there was another way. He let them know that the Original (old) way is the right way.
Now as far as Mike Bickle saying that it isn’t enough to be born again…well I hope you as the reader can see what he is trying to do. These false teachers are peddlers of biblical pornography. They want to pervert the gospel to suit their needs. If they truly taught that salvation was sufficient, then they would have no way to make a living off of these appearances and conferences. There is nothing wrong with teaching other topics other than Salvation, but if you have the proverbial microphone in any situation, as a christian you are obligated to mention mans need for salvation, and then go on with your other topic. But that isn’t what Mike Bickle is doing. He pretty much implies that we need to seek the “secret” things that God has for us. THERE IS NO SECRETS THAT AREN’T REVEALED IN THE WORD OF GOD!!!! If any man is telling you this in this context, be wary. Yes God will personally reveal things about ourselves and that can draw us closer to Him, but to say that Salvation isn’t enough, is not biblical at all.

I don’t often read blogs, however, this morning, I read an article about Joel Osteen on CONDÉ NAST PORTFOLIO that was nothing more than a sarcastic smear from yet another non-Christian media source. One link led to another, and I found myself on your blog page. My initial assumption was the page was another attempt at smearing people who, like me, love Jesus and coincidentally, attend worship services at what is defined as a “mega” church. Are you suggesting that once we have come to Christ in an act of contrite repentance and asked Him to be the Lord of our life, this is all we need to do as Christians? If this is the case, then why are we called to sanctification?
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14.
While I agree man must recognize his need for salvation, make no mistake, once we have accepted the call to be a child of Christ’s, He DOES call us to change our mindset as Mike Bickle proclaims. Why is this heresy? Friend, I say this with a loving heart; if we have truly received Christ, He **does change** our hearts and compel us to step out of our comfort zone and produce good works in His name.
“But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” James 2:20
A changed life bears fruit. In order to bear fruit we must put off the old mindset.
Furthermore, I hope you will glean another person’s perspective on evangelists, large churches and “conferences” as you call them. If it were not for such “mega preachers,” I would have never heard the true message of salvation and would not have made a u-turn in my quite imperfect impression of the Bible. Large churches require large sums of money because among other reasons, reaching into the world to spread the Word is an expensive proposition. Radio ministry, television, printed materials, the Internet… These are terrific ways of proclaiming the Word! Technology can be used perversely, but it can also be used to glorify Christ and reach into unknown crevices of society. Big church reach out and minister to people who have needs in the aftermath of tragedy by providing food, shelters and a myriad of human needs. This all costs money. I don’t believe this necessarily means the gospel is being perverted as you have stated.

I get so sick of you people who take some little snippet of what someone said and turn it into something totally against what the person actually believes. You have no idea if what you are saying agrees with what the person believes when you take things out of context, and I think you are an accuser of the brethren. Get a life. Find people besides Mike Bickle that are really teaching heresies.

Well written with truth. This guy IS leading many down the slippery slope of deception. Bickel is yet another in a long line of new age heretcs that we are warned about in the Bible.

i attend ihop and agree with you on the things you said but you are totally misinterpreting the message. its completely out of context! the salvation of Christ and Christ alone is preached at our church. i see how the mindset thing could be taken out of its meaning, if that’s all i heard at a message i would probably think it was some new age heresy! He’s talking about the complete change of heart and pursuing of Christ that should accompany salvation. We are called to live not according to the complacent Christianity that is so prevalent in todays society but be wholly pursuing Christ with all that is within us. He’s not saying the salvation isn’t enough to be saved! He saying it simply is enough to say the prayer and still live with dead faith and no relationship Christ. As Christians we need to redefine what the very word Christianity means in terms of living out your faith, even unto death. I promise you that when the tribulation comes, saying the prayer without developing a lifestyle for Christ will not be enough to keep you from denying your shallow faith. And there are many secrets to Gods heart that we are yet to understand. What a sad God it would be if we fully understood him in our mortal unglorified spirits and minds. im not speaking of secrets that stray from the doctrine of the bible, of course not! Their our deep things of Christ’s being that will expand far beyond what we already know. and it is my belief that when we do meet him face to face, we will continue learning and delving deeper into that which is the greatest mystery, Christ’s love for us! i understand where you’re coming from the, just hearing the new mindset deal does sound like heresy. Just as you should be careful about accepting that which is actual truth, you should also be careful before labeling anything as heresy! next time, try to be more objective, less biased, and approach issues within the concept

it is quite dangerous to take a verse from scripture and use it out of context to defend your own argument and agenda. it is also unwise and and abosolutely not right to take one phrase OUT OF CONTEXT and accuse of heresy.
it is dangerous ground to to point the finger of accusation at a man of God without meek study and honest pursuit of intentions.
have you ever asked mike or anyone from IHOP what he may have meant by that? that would be a good place to start…
