no follow do follow commentluv keywordluvMelissa Eaton turned me onto these plugins and this is her explanation, which she could do better than I.

I have just followed the “movement” and enabled three plugins that can benefit all of you following along here.

First off, I have removed the “no follow” attribute in the comments section using the No Follow Free Plugin. When you leave a comment, you now get a backlink that will count in the search engines from me.

But hold on, it gets even better. I have also enabled Comment Luv and Keyword Luv which gives you the opportunity to actually get two backlinks and keyword rich anchor text from one comment.

Comment Luv works by showing a link to the title from your latest blog post on your site under your comment. This not only gives you a backlink to your blog, but if your post title is interesting enough, some of my readers may be inclined to visit you. ;)

Keyword Luv is fairly new and I can already see the value in having a plugin like this. This one is especially important for those of you who are not using a blog for your url in the comment section.

Keyword Luv works by separating your name from the keywords you would like to use in the anchor text of your comment. This gives you much improved anchor text for the link. So instead of just your name or keywords being hyperlinked in the comment, your comment will look a little like this:

Tony from False Doctrine says:

In which case the keywords or name of your site are hyperlinked - not your name.

Using the above as an example, to make use of the Keyword Luv feature, you will have to enter your information in the name field like this:

Tony@False Doctrine

This is not an email address. It just tells the plugin to parse the word Tony as the name and use False Doctrine as the anchor text for the link. Go on, leave me a comment and give it a try to see how it works.

If you are interested in using any of these plugins on your WordPress blog, you can find them here:

Have fun and I hope you all will take advantage of this.

I love when blog owners offer these plugins, especially keywordluv. I think it shows the blog owner to be someone who wants comments and interaction from web visitors, but who also understands that sometimes part of what generates that is offering something to the reader - and links with a specific target are one of those things. Congrats for having the courage to implement these great plugins.

I think you will be happy you installed these plugins. I’ve noticed an increase in quality comments since I added these to my blogs. Of course, there will always be people trying to game the system, but that’s what comment moderation is for.

Nice blog with a great Keyword Luv plug-in. I installed the same plug-in on my wheel blog and it really helps to get people involved in participating in the blog but the downside is that I get a lot of one word comments and spam comments but what can you do! Anyways, giving some interesting comments and participating in various blogs can be fun!

  41. ken from High yeild.

I think having both keyword luv and comment luv is the best way to go. This way you do not have name instead of term for main page and a link to inner pages. Both plugins are a great idea and help other bloggers get more traffic.

  42. Jeff from T1 prices

Combining the 2 has to be the best way. This way people with a blog can get link to main page and one of thier inner pages listed bye comment luv. I only see a few sites with both they usualy have one or the other.

  43. willem from amsterdam design

very kind of u to install the plugins, i do think there still involves alot of spamm, but i guess its just a matter of time. Keep up the good work!
