CNSnews is reporting that a professor at the University of Minnesota has carried out a threat to desecrate both the Eucharist and the Koran.
On July 24, Paul Meyers placed a video on his blog showing the Eucharist pierced with a rusty nail. He then attached the nail pierced Eucharist to some torn pages of the Koran and then threw them all in the garbage.
He referred to the Koran as “that silly book” and to the Eucharist as ” [expletive] cracker.
Ok, I am in no means supporting Catholicism nor Islam. I don’t agree with them in any way. At the same time I do not agree with the professor. What he did was very childish and quite frankly “retarded”. The man is a Biology professor. What business does he have talking religion anyway. If you don’t agree with something, you can take a stance and not believe in it, or even speak out as to why (like I do on this blog) But you don’t go destroying things. Those are signs of psychopaths, not of “learned scholars”. There are two types of Atheists that I have run across. The first group doesn’t believe in God, and is ok in themselves and hold onto that civilly as their “religion” (they would say it isn’t a religion, but it really is) and then you have the other group of Atheists that don’t believe in God and want EVERYONE to know it and will get in the faces of everyone and belittle them, beat them down, humiliate them, name-call, etc. They are literally worse than any Jehovah’s Witness, in that you will find them “knocking on the door” of every chat room, forum, and blog comment, Loudly shouting everyone down and calling everyone idiots. They like to feel smart because they believe in science alone, which we all know isn’t perfect…(didn’t scientists used to think the earth was flat?). They believe that if you are a Christian, you must be an idiot. I don’t mind what religion you are. Yes as a Fundamentalist Christian, I would love to share the Gospel of Jesus and “convert” you. That should be the goal of every believer. Yes of course I think my way is right. The book I hold sacred tells me so. But I will NOT get violent with you or your religion. I will not belittle you for not seeing things my way. I will not make a mockery of your beliefs. You can do it to me. I am used to it by know. My holy text even says it is going to happen, so I had warning. We are all on this planet for a short time. Is it too much to ask to want to live in a society that is free from hate and violence. I know it is a fantasy and will never happen, but we can try can’t we? We don’t have to be like the animals. If anything, lets NOT be like this professor…Destroying anything that offends us. There would be nothing left….except Yoo-Hoo. Everyone likes Yoo-Hoo.
