Tennessee valley universalist unitarian church In Knoxville Tenness at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian universalist church, there has been a shooting at this mornings production of “Annie” .

First question:

“Why were they doing a production of Annie”  Have all of the souls in the Knoxville area been assured a place in heaven, and they can afford to use their time to present mediocre versions of classic plays?

I thought that way until I saw their beliefs on their website.  They are as follows:

WE BELIEVE in the freedom of religious expression. All individuals should be encouraged to develop their own personal theologies, and to present openly their religious opinions without fear of censure or reprisal.

WE BELIEVE in the tolerance of religious ideas. All religions, in every age and culture, possess not only intrinsic merit, but also potential value for those who have learned the art of listening.

WE BELIEVE in the authority of reason and conscience. The ultimate arbiter in religion is not a church, nor a document, nor an official, but the personal choice and decision of the individual.

WE BELIEVE in the never-ending search for Truth. If the mind and heart are truly free and open, the revelations that appear to the human spirit are infinitely numerous, eternally fruitful, and wondrously exciting.

WE BELIEVE in the unity of experience. There is no fundamental conflict between faith and knowledge, religion and the world, the sacred and the secular, since they all have their source in the same reality.

WE BELIEVE in the worth and dignity of each human being. All people on earth have an equal claim to life, liberty, and justice-and no idea, ideal, or philosophy is superior to a single human life.

WE BELIEVE in the ethical application of religion. Good works are the natural product of a good faith, the evidence of an inner grace that finds completion in social and community involvement.

So…I don’t even have to waste my time here to exposit the falsity in them putting on this play.  It’s sad that they feel the need to entertain, instead of warn.  I am glad nobody was killed.  I will keep these in my prayers.

EDITED: CNN IS REPORTING THAT 2 PEOPLE HAS BEEN KILLED AND 8 WOUNDED.

  1. What is wrong with you? Are you completely soulless? Do you not have any compassion? If you think you are humorous then you are sorely mistaken.

  2. Even though we don’t believe that what they are preaching is true, they are still human beings in need of a Savior. If those that died, died without that Savior, they will be in hell. That is a horrible thought! God work in the situation and draw the others to Yourself.

If you read my post you will see that I wasn’t taking offense to the victims, it was the fact that a church was doing a secular play instead of warning the people.
The sad thing to think about is, those 2 that died…did they get the message? Or did the church play around with their souls? Did they accept Christ before they died? I hope so. This goes to show the importance of the Church in the role of evangelism. We have to win the lost. Share the Gospel. Not tickle the ears and entertain. People are dying and going to hell. Even in the church building itself we aren’t safe. We don’t know when our time is. We have to do it now!
