John McCain Christian

View the Presidential Report Card
The election is just around the corner and I am honestly undecided on who to vote for.  I know I need to vote, and I usually just vote Republican, but there is just something about John McCain that kind of makes me want to hesitate a little longer about voting Republican.

John McCain never really talks about his religious beliefs, so it is hard to judge the man on that.  Our country was founded on religious beliefs.  With George Bush, at least he talked about it.  He mentioned God, and religion, and faith whenever it fit the situation.  But this guy seems afraid of the subject.

McCain still has a majority of the Evangelical vote over Obama but he still has a lot of work to do to not only get me on board, but the countless others that are on the fence for this very issue.

  1. I feel your pain. I’m not over joyed with McCain. In the end, regardless of how Obama tries to center himself in his campaign, I’m probably going to have to choose McCain. I’m just too concerned about who Obama will nominate as Federal Judges. The other issue I can’t get by is abortion. My conscious won’t let me vote for anyone so strongly in favor of abortion as a means to correct a mistake. I’m not confident in McCain’s personal views on this issue either but at least he’s on the pro-life side in his campaign.

I know some think it is foolish to focus on one issue like that. I just can’t figure out how to reconcile legally killing babies with my Christian faith. And I have to vote my faith (http://www.seekingabove.com/2008/03/religion-and-politics_08.html).

Have to say I am not excited about him because I think is not that great of a guy. Left his wife after she waited the whole time for him while he was POW and married the woman he is with now 2 months after his divorce was final.

  3. I love the incredible hulk McCain picture.

I view our country being founded not on religion but on religious freedom. Many of our forefathers came here because religion played too prominent roll in their home countries.

Yes, Religious Freedom, right….But religion was mentioned and not ignored. It was a part of life. I just want to hear something from the man, or I’m just gonna vote for Obama :)

Freedom of Religion also means Freedom from Religion.

I say leave Religion OUT of Politics.

I’m voting for Obama for many reasons, the biggest reason is I feel Palin is not genuine, and is a threat to National Security. Should McCain choke on a Pork Rib - I don’t want to see my children speaking Mandrian. And that’s EXACTLY what will happen.

  6. John McCain could claim to be a Christian from the housetops, but that wouldn’t necessarily make it so. Deeds speak louder than words. Before voting for anyone you should learn as much about that person as possible. If they are a senator or representative in congress, check to see how they voted on issues that matter to you. Listen to them speak. Do they often change their opinions on important matters? Personally, I wouldn’t vote for McCain for dogcatcher even if he did come out and claim to be a Christian!

  7. i don’t really like McCain but he gets my vote, because there is no one else better then him unfortunately.

  8. This is gonna be my 1st time to vote. But I’m still undecided. It’s like choosing who’s the lesser evil. My husband is always a Republican, but now he’s even dubious of McCain. My husband jokingly said he’d write his name on the ballot instead. :-()

Yes, He might be a better choice than the 2 we have to choose from. I’m not terribly excited about either, but i guess the lesser of 2 evils will have to get my vote.

It’s ignorance, and stupidity that are going to kill this election. If a person is “searching” for the lesser of two evils, then they should educate themselves and see what each candidate stands for, and what they believe in. This election is so important to the country right now, if a person is undecided then they should either not vote at all, or write in an appropriate candidate, IE: Hillary Clinton. This is not the time to flip a coin, and hope for the best. Don’t think your vote doesn’t count!
