I just got finished watching a documentary on Showtime called “We’re All Angels”. The name sounds sweet enough, but the content is old and tired. It’s the same story heard by everyone, but in this instance instead of running away from the church, the 2 homosexual men that this documentary is about, actually embrace the christian religion and tour around the country singing praise and worship music.
Here is the showtime trailer:

Yea, you get the picture:
Kid grows up confused. Kid finally comes out to himself. Kid comes out to his parents. Parents threaten to disown the kid. Parents realize they are wrong, but accept them. Kid becomes part of a domestic partnership. Kid starts a clothing line and begins saying witty catch phrases. “Fierce” “Don’t get me started” “Leave Brittany Alone” “I’m not gay” (That last one was John Travolta…I don’t do a good impression of him, but you should hear my Walken…”It’s…Crazy” ).
Like I said, same old, same old, but what makes this interesting to me is that one of the parties involved in this documentary, Jason Warner, attended Lee University in the neighboring county that I live in (which is also the county that my denominations Headquarters are located, so needless to say there is a lot of “religion” in this area).
Jason was so scared when he was in college because he was gay, but in this documentary he, and his better half, go back to the Lee campus full of courage to perform. They aren’t allowed to perform there at the university, so they have to perform in another location in the city of Cleveland Tennessee. And to a crowd of about 25 they sang their hearts out and sold CD’s.
I do agree with one thing that is said in this film. I DO believe that he was born that way. No question about it. It is a choice, but he was born that way. We were all born into sin. We are all born as sinners in this fallen world. We are all born with the capability to be gay, or a murderer, or a thief, or a liar. We have all sinned and do continue to sin. Wait…did I just put homosexuality previous to murder in my list…on the same line…??? Yea, I did. (Just wanted to make sure I did. I didn’t want to use the backspace key and fix that. I’m lazy.)

Now Tony, why would God make them that way if it wasn’t how he intended them to live their lives??? God did make them that way right? Just like he made child molesters the way they are, and thieves the way they are, and liars the way they are, and murderers the way they are, and adulterers the way they are, and idol worshipers the way they are, and gossipers the way they are…. Why would he make us all the way we are if it wasn’t what he intended for us? …… What’s that you say?? We are born sinners into a fallen world? Because of that, our very nature is sinful? God is a Holy God and demands a holy people? We have to repent and turn from our sins and trust in Jesus and what he did at the cross?? You mean we can’t continue to live in sin? But God made me an idol worshiper.. I’m sure he wouldn’t have made me that way if he had a problem with that. There must be some other explanation for those scriptures that speak against it.
Anyhow….
