Modern preachers like to tell us that God has our comfort in mind. They like to twist scripture to the point of preaching false doctrine so that we believe that God is in existence as our ethereal “Bell-Boy”, seeking to make sure our Newspaper is on our doorstep and there is a mint on our pillows…proverbially speaking.
The problem with that is, well, quite frankly, EVERYTHING. Yes, God loves and cares about us, but his mind is on our soul and not our comfort level. It doesn’t matter to him if you drive a Lexus or a Camry. It doesn’t concern God if your house is 4,000 Sq.ft or if you live in 2 rooms of your mother-in-laws trailer.
Don’t get me wrong, God will bless as he wills, and if He wants to give you a 4,000 Sq.Ft. house or a Lexus, He will. Cause He can. Cause He is God. But that isn’t what God is about. …read full article…

Mike Murdock reads the miracles that he claim come from people sowing their seed of $58 a month to his ministry. It seems Gods blessings are released only when we give a seed donation of $58 a month to Mike Murdock. Mr. Murdock says for us not to let this hour pass with our hands closed.
People like Mike Murdock make me sick. They put price tags on the blessings of God. Everything that we as believers have or will ever receive from God is free. It is simply a gift provided by Christs Finished Work on the Cross. If we just solely put our faith in Christ as the source of all good things and realize that the cross was the means by which we receive God’s favor, we will know the true key. We can’t earn it and we don’t deserve it. These prosperity pimps always say that they have a new revelation from God or that God outright told them these things, but that just isn’t the case. It is plainly false doctrine.

An Update on Lakeland from Peter

I was in the San Francisco airport on my way to Singapore and Indonesia when the news of Todd Bentley’s separation from his wife became public on August 12. When I arrived back home last week, I found that Doris had received and replied to around 1,700 emails and the stack of correspondence on my desk was unbelievable. It took me the rest of the week to catch up!
During the week I was gone, a major watershed occurred regarding the Lakeland situation as most of you would know. We are now on a new playing field. Lakeland Outpouring I, in which Todd Bentley was the main figure, is now history. Lakeland Outpouring II, in which Stephen Strader of Ignited Church is the main figure, has begun. …read full article…
